Nice cheap shot, hm?
We are not claiming another "told you so", but we had a draft post about Al Jezeera and a couple of unexpected viewers in the draft folder.
We got to know a few conservative Germans, the kind of community spirited nice folks who spend much of their retirement time on the town council and are members of Ms. Merkels conservative party.
Somewhat to our surprise, they see Al Jezeera as a decent broadcaster: They do good work.
Note the absence of out and out raving praise as well as the absence of attributing sinister motives to Al Jazeera, which is part of the TV offerings over here.
We thought, why not write a small post.
And now, Al Jazeera buys Al Gore's Current TV, and. Warner Cable promptly drops Current TV.
We do not know if this is a business decision, a little bit of politics or a mix of both.
But, just as a general reminder:
Who and what you censor says as much about you as about the object of censorship.
